Machine Tool Projects

The things I have built with my machine tools:

An Inexpensive DRO for the Mill

Inexpensive because I will eventually convert the mill to CNC and decomission the DRO.

Y axis in progress. X and Z axes completed 7/24/06...

A Vise Stop for the Kurt Vise: Based on an elegant design by the Fidgiting Widgitmaster and embellished in a homely way by yours truly to include knurled finger wheels based on split cotter locks. There's probably some arugula and sun dried tomatos in there too!

Completed 7/12/06...

Fixture Plate : So I can quickly drop vises, rotary tables, and parts on and they'll be perfectly aligned every time.

Still just in planning stage...

Color Code Your Wrenches:

Saves a lot of groping around!

Completed 6/29/06...

Big Brass Gib Lock Knobs: Because every mill should have a couple of big brass ones!

Completed 6/23/06...

TPGB Insert Dovetail Cutter: I want to make Aloris-style QCTP holders with my new mill. To do that I have to be able to cut the dovetails. So, I made this cutter as my first "practical" mill project.

Completed 6/13/06...

Milling Machine Stand

Completed 5/21/06

Incomplete Lathe Projects: These are some projects I have started, not completed, and probably won't complete. Usually I decide the project is no longer necessary before finishing, for example because I intend to convert the machine to CNC.

Never gonna be completed by design...
