Santa Fe: Art I really got to liking Santa Fe in our limited time to visit. In fact, I liked it so much that I resolved to take my wife back there as soon as I returned. What follows is my story of why I liked it so much, and why you might too. First and foremost are the art galleries. So many interesting works are on display here. I was told that Santa Fe was recently listed as the third largest art market after New York and LA. Of course, even if Chicago is ahead of them, and it seems likely, Santa Fe is still a major market with over 60 galleries. Here are a few of the pieces I liked:
This piece was wondefully intricate, and done by one of Chihuly's artisans.
I fell in love with these junkyard garden sculptures by Richard Kolb...
A List of Some of the Galleries I Visited: Articulate Glass, Connected with Houshang's Gallery Hope Collection: Wonderful people, beautiful glass! Arlene Siegel Joe Wade: Look for artist Arlene LeDell Hayes' "Dreamwalker" series Lewallen Contemporary: Jesus Batista Moroles does wonderful granite sculpture. Meridel Rubinstein does eclectic photography cum sculpture works. Carol Kucera: Neon & metal sculptures. Contemporary of Andreas Nottebohm, with related "space art".
