Kitchen
Like the rest of the house, the kitchen is designed to be sleek and elegant, yet functional. We've repeated our stainless and art glass motif here. Appliances are top-of-the-line by European firm Gaggenau. They're the Bang & Olufsen of the kitchen world. The island design makes for excellent workflow, so its a very functional kitchen, both for family cooking and for entertaining larger groups.
There is considerable storage available within these fiddle-back maple cabinets. The granite is Uba Tuba.
Housed within the cabinets are these appliance hutches, making it easy to use the appliances, and then close the doors so the clutter goes away. This is a unique feature of the house that we hadn't seen anywhere else. Refrigerator on the right is a big Sub Zero.
There's also a large butler's pantry to keep the staples in stock.
Island fixtures are by Boyd. They're completely movable to shine the light anywhere you need it. We like the flying saucer design too!
The coolest appliance in the kitchen, bar none. It's a Sub Zero fridge drawer. Great for drinks. We have soft drinks and water on top, beer and champagne on bottom.
The kitchen bay window let's in ambient light and offers excellent views of the trees outside, and the ocean via the side window. It also makes it easy for Mom to keep an eye on the kids.
