Front Entry

Coming up the driveway, you will encounter our little observatory.

As you near the top of our driveway, you are greeted by two Greg Hawthorne sculptures, hanging on the wall. The one on the left is evocative of our observatory, while the one on the right evokes some sort of exotic car.

Just past the Hawthornes is the gate leading to the front entrance. A water sculpture is just to the left of the gate.

The water noise makes the front entrance seem more special, and friendlier.

Directly opposite the fountain is our front door. The glass panels begin to portray one of the house's underlying themes--our extensive collection of art glass.

The outside world as refracted through the wavy glass gives a nice effect.

Bennett Battaile Art Glass serves as our entry hall lighting chandelier. Displaying it in this fashion was one of my contributions to the house.

Entry hall painting by Andreas Nottebohm

Art niches in the entry hall. The helmet conveys a sense of whimsy, as well as carrying out our color scheme and signalling the owner's penchant for automobiles.
